Heritage at Risk: The Old Manor

The Generic Civic Society is issuing an urgent call for action regarding the Old Manor site on Main Road. The Grade II listed building, vacant for several years, is showing alarming signs of decay.

Recent site visits have revealed water ingress in the main hall and damage to the Victorian boundary walls. We have written to the site owners and the Council's conservation officers demanding immediate urgent works to weatherproof the structure.

A Vital Asset

The Old Manor is a significant example of 19th-century architecture and holds a place in the social history of Generic City. Its loss would be a tragedy. We are exploring the possibility of getting the site added to Historic England's "At Risk" register to unlock potential funding for stabilization.
